WHO IS GOD?
THERE IS BUT ONE GOD!.
GOD IS A SPIRIT!
JESUS IS GOD!
HE BECAME MAN !
These sections will be backed up with lots of Scripture from God's Holy
Word and in simple language to make it easy to understand and I would
suggest that as you open God's word you pray and ask the Holy Spirit to
guide you and reveal what each Scripture is saying, I personally was
brought up Trinity from the time I was a child and my dad was a deacon in
the church for years and an honary deacon at the age of 90 when he died .I
thank the Lord that God gave me a searching heart and over the years he
led me into the truth that what I had been taught was not all correct so here
I will try to help anyone who is hungry to know what God is saying in His word.
You don't have to listen to my words but please listen to God's words
for He will show you what was shown to me Therefore I am using mostly
Scripture to do this so God can speak to you by His Precious Holy Spirit and
not my words. .Praise the Lord!!
So let’s begin with part 1
THERE IS BUT ONE GOD:
Dt 6:4 (KJV) Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Isaiah 44:6(KJV) Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his
redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last;
and beside me there is no God.
Isaiah 45:3 (KJV And I will give thee the treasures of darkness,
and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I,
the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
Isaiah 45:9 (KJV) Remember the former things of old: for I am God,
and there is none else;I am God, and there is none like me,
Malachi 2:10 (KJV) 1 Have we not all one father? hath not one God
created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother,
by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
1Co 8:4 (KJV) As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are
offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world,
and that there is none other God but one.
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth,
(as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we
in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Eph 4:5 (KJV) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV) For there is one God, and one mediator between God
and men,the man Christ Jesus;
James 2:19 (KJV)Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the
devils also believe, and tremble.
My Comments on the above verses:
Folks everyone of the above verses tell us there is ONE GOD. There is not
three gods as some believe. I love all my sisters and brothers of the Trinity
Doctrine and all other faiths as I was a member of that but the error I was
taught was that God was the first person of the Trinity, the Son was the
second person and the Holy Spirit was the third person This was error for God
is not a person but a Spirit and the Holy Spirit is not a person but a Spirit and
as we study together I pray you will see what was revealed to me .
In fact the word Trinity is not even in the Bible anywhere and I searched for
it for years and could not find it anywhere.I am able to back that up as to
where the word came from but not in this study as I am tiring to keep this simple
but if you have questions you are free to ask us them and we will do our best to give
you and answer from the Word of God. "1
So lets move on to Part 11
GOD IS A SPIRIT:
Jn 4:23 (KJV) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall
worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
1 John 4:12 (KJV) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God
dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
Luke 24:39 (KJV)Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and
see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
(1 Timothy 1:17). “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who
alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen
My Comments to above verses:
"Doesn’t the Bible teach that the Eternal God is invisible to mortal man? Didn’t John
plainly state, “No one has seen God at anytime” (1 John 4:12)? According to the Bible,
the reason God cannot be seen is because “God is Spirit” (John 4:24). And as Jesus
Himself said, “A spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have” (Luke 24:39).
The one true and living God described in the Bible is a Spirit which cannot be seen.
There is nothing about the Divine Spirit that is visible to the eyes of man. This is
why Paul declares: “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who
alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17).
Clearly the one true and living God described in the Bible is a Spirit which cannot
be seen"1
"Understanding the relationship between the Father and the Son, that is, between
the invisible Spirit and the visible Man, is the key to developing keen spiritual
eyesight. The Father and the Son are not two distinct Divine Beings at all, for the
Bible states plainly that “GOD IS ONE” (Galatians 3:20). The Eternal Spirit is a
single Divine Being who indwells and manifests Himself through a uniquely
conceived human being called the Son. We see here two distinct natures, one
human and one divine, but not two distinct Divine Beings. If you can grasp this
marvelous truth, you will ultimately be able to rightly divide the entire Word of of God "3
Lets move on to part 111
JESUS IS GOD:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1 (KJV)
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them,
The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall
I say unto them? Exodus 3:13
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the
children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses,
Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of
Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name
for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Exodus 3:14-15 (KJV)
Jesus calls Himself the I AM. (compare with Exodus 3:13-14 • also see
John 18:6)
As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
John 18:6 (KJV)
John 8:56-59 56 "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he
saw it and was glad." 57 Then the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet
fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to
them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." 59
Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and
went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so
passed by.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government
shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
In the above verse Jesus is called the mighty God .
Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal
treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers?
Malachi 2:10 (KJV)
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive,
and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)
Immanuel means God with us.
And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD,
and his name one. Zechariah 14:9 (KJV)
Matthew 1:23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son,
and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."
Immanuel means God with us.
The Word is God-Jesus is the Word. (see John 1:14)
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
Reference John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and
we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,
full of grace and truth.
Thomas calls Jesus "my Lord and my God".
John 20:27-28 27 Then He said to Thomas, "Reach your finger here, and
look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side.
Do not be unbelieving, but believing." 28 And Thomas answered and
said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus did not consider it robbery to be equal with God.
Philippians 2:5-6 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ
Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery
to be equal with God
Jesus is the image of God; the Creator of all things. (compare with
Genesis 1:1)
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth.
Colossians 1:15-18 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created
that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things
were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things,
and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the
church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in
all things He may have the preeminence.
Reference Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth.
Yes Jesus is God
The Word of God speaks for Itself .
Part 4 He Became Man
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name
Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Matthew 1:23 (KJV)
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. John 1:10 (KJV)
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. John 8:56 (KJV)
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:57-58 (KJV)
I and my Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those
works do ye stone me? John 10:30-32 (KJV)
Jn 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me,
Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you
I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. John 14:6-10 (KJV)
Jn 12:44 (KJV) Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. John 12:44-45 (KJV)
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto
them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19 (KJV)
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the
Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1 Timothy 3:16 (KJV)
My input
"God knew that due to sin He had to make a way for humankind to be saved. He had a plan
right from the beginning formed to solve this problem of our sin.
John 1:1 and John 1:14 says:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (KJV)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (KJV)
God being a spirit he did not have a fleshly body no skin and bones like us. Therefore he
took upon himself a human fleshly body with skin and bones. He became a human being at the incarnation
when a baby was born of a virgin by the Holy Ghost. In other words God became the shell or body of Jesus.
He then after ministering for three years was crucified upon the cross of Calvary , buried , was resurrected
on the third day and as a result took upon himself our sins and we have now a way to be saved and
God whose name is Jesus is our only hope.
"But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:"
(Why is He coming in the likeness of men? Because He's God!) Philippians 2:7
"And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, ... ." Philippians 2:8
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the
rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. {9} For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."
Colossians 2:8-9
My Friend the only way that you and I can be born again is to obey God's Word and that involves obeying Acts 38 -39
Ac 2:38 (KJV) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2:38-39 (KJV)
I have followed this plan of salvation myself and I have never been so fulfilled in my life as I am now. I pray you will
at least study this in the bible and as you do ask the Lord to show you what the scriptures mean He will .
Conclusion:
The Three Terms, Father, Son, Holy Spirit Are Not Three Persons.
When I explain that there is only one God and not three gods I give this little illustration.
My name is Phyllis Corbin but I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother. When I go to
the bank to cash a cheque I cannot sign my name as wife, mother ,or grandmother . I have
to sign my check with my name of Phyllis Corbin my real name. Wife, mother and grandmother are
just offices I do or jobs so to speak and don't make me three persons just one person
functioning in three different positions. The bank will only accept my real name of Phyllis
Corbin. While I function in more than one capacity and occupy more than one office, and
wear a number of different hats, I am still just ONE person. This is the same with
God . The Father is God in relationship, The Son is God in flesh, and the Holy Spirit is
God in spiritual actions. God's name is Jesus and that is the only name that will save a soul.
I pray that that this helps you some and that the Holy Spirit will reveal to you this wonderful truth
that has been revealed to me through the Holy Spirit. 1
A quote from Rev David Houston on this very subject.
"FATHER IS A TERM of relationship. When we speak of God as the Father, we are
speaking to Him in terms of our relationship to Him as His born again children.
When we pray, we may speak to God as our Father. But we wouldn’t usually say,
"The Father is really moving in this service." Or, "He was filled with the Father."
Instead we would say, "The Spirit is moving." Or, "He was filled with the Spirit."
The Spirit is not a third divine person, distinct from the Father and the Son.
The Spirit is God is action. Think of these terms this way:
The Father is God in relationship.
The Son is God in flesh
The Holy Spirit is God is spiritual action.
As Father, God is the One who gives anointing. As Son, God is the Anointed One, the Christ.
As Spirit, God is the anointing. These are not three distinct divine persons; they are simply
three descriptive titles showing us the way God works in our lives to bring salvation.
For salvation to come to man, there had to be a sinless man for the sacrifice. For the Son to be a
genuine man, He had to be born of a woman. But for the Son to be sinless man, He had to be conceived
by God. Therefore, to bring salvation God had to become the Father. But once the Son had
died and been raised, God had to begin operating in the world as Spirit. Therefore, to bring
salvation the Spirit had begin moving, just as it did when God brought order to His creation in Genesis 1:2.
As the Spirit, God is able to be all places at the same time. 1 Corinthians 15:45 says,
"And so it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being.’ The last Adam became
a life-giving spirit." It is perfectly correct to say that Jesus is the Spirit, Jesus is the Son, or that
Jesus is the Father. As Acts 4:12 affirms, "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is
no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
When a person is filled with the Spirit, who comes to dwell within him? 1 Corinthians 3:16 says,
"Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"
2 Corinthians 13:5 says, "Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?"
And Ephesians 4:6 says, "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all,
and in you all." Are there three divine persons living in us? No. Jesus is in us by His Spirit.
God is not three distinct divine persons. Neither does He have three identities, three personalities,
or three centers of consciousness. God is not three at all, GOD IS ONE!
The doctrine of the trinity was developed by philosophers attempting to explain the God of the
Bible using the ideas of Greek philosophy. But in Colossians 2:8-9 Paul warns, "Beware lest
anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men,
according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all
the fullness of the" 3
